长拳: Boxing long
The fifth fundamental technique of Shaolin Kung-fu is called "Tai-zu-Chang Quan". -Founded by Zhao Kuang-Yin, Tai-zu of the Song Dynasty, it was later developed by the Masters of the Shaolin Temple of Song-shan. With its abundant content, offense and defense at short range, and movements with flexible and effective in combat, the Tai-zu Shaolin Chang Quan, belongs to the style of the short hand of Shaolin-Kaman.
In "Manual of Shaolin Kung-fu", "Long Fist" means sudden attack at close range, while "short fist" refers to the coup long distance. At Shaolin, there's a song that glorifies this ancient fighting technique: "The Long Fist Tai-zu to get you everywhere. Strong and tough, is glorified by all. Surprisingly the earth, sky and sea. Moves mountains, and break the stone. The peacock facing the sun, the swallow skims the water, the tiger chasing its prey, the dragon stirs the sand. "
The style Tai-zu-Chang Quan is characterized by explosive techniques, fighting, close, pressure, attack and defense, trapping and pushing, and finally opening and closing. Attacks using simple linear technique Combat Chang, plans to restrict movement to a minimum, waiting or anticipating the opponent's actions. This highly sophisticated fighting technique requires at least ten years of experience in Kung-fu before they can be approached.
